PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing sibutramine and tioctic acid is provided to ensure synergic effect and to reduce side effect. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating obesity and obesity-associated diseases contains sibutramin or pharmaceutically acceptable additive salt, and tioctic acid or pharmaceutically acceptable salt. Tioctic acid is R-(+)-tioctic acid or S-(-)-tioctic acid.
