PURPOSE: A method and a system for measuring a signal by using a smart antenna in a wireless communication system are provided to efficiency measure the intensity of a signal from a directional antenna or beam by using different beams for transmission and reception. CONSTITUTION: A first station(902) includes a first transmitter/receiver, a first antenna, a measurement packet request device(910), a measurement packet analyzing unit(918), and a beam changing unit(920). The first antenna, the measurement packet request unit, and the measurement packet analyzing unit are connected to the first transmitter/receiver. The measurement packet request device receives a confirmation response from a second station after the measurement packet request is transmitted to the second station. The measurement packet analyzing unit measures the measurement packet received from the second station. A beam changing unit is connected to the first transmitter/receiver and the measurement packet analyzing unit. |
