FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: during monitoring, infrared radiation is received from the monitored area in one or two main spectral bands spaced apart; the input stream of infrared radiation is split into quasi-monochromatic and polychromatic radiation. Each stream is focused on the surface of a multi-element cooled photodetector and digital images of the monitored region of the atmosphere are formed. After space-time filtration of the background, signal levels of elements of the images are compared with a threshold value. A signal level higher than the threshold value in one or more elements of at least one digital image indicates availability of exhaust products in the atmosphere in the monitored directions corresponding to these image elements. To determine composition of the exhaust products, interference optical filters are successively adjusted to predefined spectral lines. ^ EFFECT: more efficient detection of faint exhaust products in gas-dynamic systems in the atmosphere. ^ 3 cl, 4 dwg, 1 tbl |
