<p>Use of polymeric nanoparticles (in the form of aqueous dispersion or water redispersible powder) in construction adhesives, is claimed, where the polymeric nanoparticle is obtained by radically initiated microemulsion polymerization in an aqueous medium of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomer (including (meth)acrylic acid ester, vinyl ester, vinyl aromate, olefin, 1,3-diene, or vinyl halide), and optionally subsequently drying to obtain aqueous dispersion. An independent claim is included for a polystyrene-mixture, in the form of aqueous dispersion or water redispersible powder, comprising one or more polymeric nanoparticles having particle diameter of = 90 nm (calculated using Coulter Nanosizer N4(RTM: Particle size analyzer)), one or more styrene copolymer having particle size diameter D w(calculated using Beckman Coulter LS 13 320(RTM: Laser diffraction particle size analyzer)) of >= 91 nm, where: the styrene-copolymer is obtained by emulsion polymerization or suspension polymerization of at least 10 wt.% of styrene and one or more further mono-ethylenically unsaturated monomer (including (meth)acrylic acid ester, vinyl ester, vinyl aromate, olefin, 1,3-diene, or vinyl aromate different from styrene), and optionally one or more monoethylenically unsaturated auxiliary monomer and optionally subsequently drying the obtained aqueous dispersion.</p> |
