PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone antifoam particle having storage stability and extremely excellent compatibility with a porous carrier material. SOLUTION: The silicone antifoam particle (P) contains (A) a porous copolymer of urea, melamine or a mixture thereof with an alkanal and (B) a silicone antifoam composition which is liquid at 0°C. A powdery antifoam agent is also provided which includes the silicone antifoam particle (P) and the carrier material. The silicone antifoam particle (P) is a dry non-agglomerated granule and has outstanding storage stability. The silicone antifoam particle (P) has extremely excellent compatibility with the other porous carrier material and consequently can be mixed in the powdery antifoam agent together with the carrier material. The effectiveness of the powdery antifoam agent, for example, a powdery detergent matrix, can be kept for several months or more even when stored at high temperature and high air moisture.
