PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator type parking device by which a pallet turning device arranged in a pit during normal operation can be quickly and easily evacuated urgently when the pit is submerged. SOLUTION: The elevator type parking device is provided with an elevating carrier 3 and the pallet turning device 10 installed in the pit P in an upwardly separable manner. The pallet turning device has a turning table 13 for turning a pallet. The elevating carrier 3 has an opening 20 which can position the turning table 13 at a predetermined turning position to pass in a vertical direction and inhibits the turning table 13 positioned at the other turning position from passing in the vertical direction. When the elevating carrier 3 is lowered, the turning table 13 relatively upwardly passes the opening 20, and the turning table is positioned upper than the elevating carrier 3. Then the turning table 13 comes to the position of interfering with the elevating carrier 3 in a plan view by turning the turning table 13.
