PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray tilting device in an article carrying sorting system capable of accurately and quickly sorting a carrying article by controlling the tilting timing of a tray according to a characteristic of the carrying article by performing the supply (power feed) of power and the communication of a control signal in non-contact with a travel carriage side. SOLUTION: The article carrying sorting device is provided for delivering the carrying article mounted to the tray 2 to a sorting chute side by tilting the tray 2 arranged at travel carriages K so as to be tiltable in a position of a predetermined sorting chute while circularly driving a large number of travel carriages K connected in an endless shape via a carriage connecting mechanism J along an endless-shaped loop system travel passage by a linear motor, and is constituted so as to tilt the tray 2 provided in the travel carriages K so as to be tiltable by controlling the tilting timing of the tray 2 according to a characteristic of the carrying article by performing the power supply and the communication of the control signal in a non-contact manner with the travel carriages K.
