<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst bed temperature estimation device accurately estimating even catalyst bed temperature right after restart of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst bed temperature estimation device periodically whether exhaust gas of prescribed quantity or more flows in a catalyst or not, executes first bed temperature estimation process (S102) estimating bad temperature of the catalyst with heat quantity supplied to the catalyst by the exhaust gas taken into account if the exhaust gas of the prescribed quantity or more flows in the catalyst, and execute second bed temperature estimation process (S102) estimating each catalyst bed temperature based on thermal conduction model in which it is assumed that heat is emitted from the catalyst only to a downstream side air layer of the catalyst and/or a downstream side air layer of the catalyst if the exhaust gas of the prescribed quantity or more does not flow in the catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
