PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper postprocessing device for eliminating an impulsive sound offensive to a user, by reducing vibration of a horizontal registering plate in registration operation and in starting and stopping operation. SOLUTION: This paper postprocessing device is characterized by reducing the vibration of the horizontal registering plates 47a and 47b of paper P in the registration operation and in starting and stopping the operation, by filling up a clearance arranged in the horizontal registering plates 47a and 47b and a processing tray 12 with a shock absorbing member 13. The impulsive sound offensive to the user is eliminated by reducing this vibration. The shock absorbing member 13 is desirably a friction-reduced member, and uses, for example, cloth such as felt.
