PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regularly arrange compound semiconductor particles such as quantum dots on a substrate. SOLUTION: A silane coupling agent is mixed into a solution containing compound semiconductor particles comprising any one of CdS, CdSe, ZnO, and InN. The compound semiconductor particles are extracted from the solution. The extracted compound semiconductor particles are mixed into a DNA solution in which DNA molecules are suspended. Consequently, the compound semiconductor particles are adsorbed to the DNA molecules. The DNA solution is deposited on a substrate. Further, the DNA solution deposited on the substrate is dried, thereby sticking the DNA molecules, contained in the DNA solution, on the substrate and forming the compound semiconductor particles, adsorbed to the DNA molecules, on the substrate.
