PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a manner whereby data effective for improving recognition rate is to be acquired, even though a means for recognition of a person which uses various techniques is proposed. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 201 includes an imaging section 202 for capturing a subject image; an image processing section 205 for performing the image processing on the output of the imaging section 202; a reference image generating section 204, which generates a reference image concerning a subject suitable for acquiring subject recognition data for recognizing a specified subject; a display device 210 which is supported freely rotatably; a specific recognition data storage section 206 for recording the subject recognition data extracted from output of the image processing section 205; and a display control section 208, which rotates the display 210 in the direction of facing the subject to control so as to display the reference image and the output of the image processing section 205 on the display 210.
