PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a lower alcohol and an alkali catalyst are added in production of a biodiesel fuel oil from waste cooking oil, and separating a fatty acid alkyl ester solution from a glycerol solution after reaction is performed by a detector which ensures high efficiency and accuracy instead of a manhandling work which has large variation, and a method for eliminating a wastewater treatment work by water washing having a great burden on the environment. SOLUTION: Separating the fatty acid alkyl ester solution from the glycerol solution is made possible by disposing a detector that can measure the intensity of transmitted light from an LED red lamp at a wavelength of 650 nm. Elimination of the wastewater treatment work by water washing, results in making possible to adsorb and remove impurities by using fine particles of an aluminum silicate compound having a large specific surface area.
