PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge device which stabilizes the discharge amount of a functional liquid from heads in all carriages forming the rows of carriages and mounted with the heads for discharging the functional liquid to a substrate. SOLUTION: In the discharge device 1, a plurality of regular carriages 21a mounted with the heads having a nozzle are arranged in a predetermined direction, and while the regular carriages 21a are moved relative to the substrate in the main scanning direction and in the sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction, the functional liquid is discharged from the nozzles of the heads, whereby the functional liquid is discharged and placed on the substrate W.
