PURPOSE: A browser device for updating a browser program by a function notifying address of web page leading to an error and a control method are provided to receive and update a browser program which is automatically upgraded from a browser program management server, thereby increasing the convenience of a user. CONSTITUTION: A web page requesting unit(131) receives a web page by requesting the page from a web page server. A web page interpreter(132) processes interpreting the grammar of the web page received from the web site server. An error processing unit(133) transmits an error occurrence informing signal including an address of a web page which system reset occurred to a browser program management server. A browser upgrade unit(134) updates the preset browser program by receiving the browser program upgraded from the browser program management server.
