<p>A pre-tensioner arrangement (1), for use in a motor vehicle safety device, comprises a piston member (9) arranged in a cylinder chamber (13), said piston member (9) being displaceable in a retraction direction by a pressure applied to a first part (13a) of said cylinder chamber (13) through an inlet (15), a connecting member (5) connected to the piston member (9) and connectable to a part (3) of the motor vehicle safety device for pretensioning the motor vehicle safety device, and locking means (25, 27, 29) for locking the piston member (9). The locking means (25, 27, 29) being arranged to lock the piston member (9) when the piston member (9) is subjected to an acceleration in a direction opposite to said retraction direction, said acceleration exceeding a predetermined acceleration level, and retaining means (11) arranged in the cylinder chamber (13) for preventing said piston member (9) from being locked when the piston member (9) is subjected to an acceleration in a direction opposite to said retraction direction, said acceleration being below said predetermined acceleration level.</p> |
