PURPOSE: A handover device in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to integrate an X2 signaling message with an RRC signaling message that a macro base station and a relay base station receives and sends for handover of a terminal, thereby reducing the amount of messages between the macro base station and the relay base station for handover of a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A terminal(200) is connected to a macro base station(210) to receive a service. The terminal includes a relay base station(220) by periodic event generation to measure a channel state with an adjacent base station. The terminal transmits a measurement report message including a measurement result to the macro base station. The macro base station receiving the measurement report message determines whether to perform handover to an adjacent base station for a terminal based on the measurement result.
