The habitat has a modular habitation element (12) realized from a parallelepiped transport container. An extension element (32) is in a form of a corbel or oriel and comprises a floor wall (38) and a roof wall (40) connected by four vertical walls (42, 44, 46, 48). The habitation element is received on a vertical face of the extension element to be fixed on a circumference (34) of an opening (36) that is practiced in the habitation element. Two of the vertical walls and the floor and roof walls are projected from the circumference of the opening of the habitation element.
