<p>This invention discloses an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine and a generator set utilizing same. The exhaust system reduces jet noise and temperature of a first exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine. The exhaust system comprises an inlet, a chamber, and an outlet. The inlet is capable of generating an airflow into the chamber where the first exhaust gas is merged with said airflow into a second exhaust gas, thereby reducing the noise and temperature of the first exhaust gas. The chamber includes sound absorbing material to further reduce the noise. The inlet is decoupled from the internal combustion engine to reduce vibration noise, and is made up of a high temperature elastomer to accommodate extreme exhaust gas temperatures.</p> |
