<p>A contact and an electric connector which are configured in such a manner that an electrical connection is less likely to be interrupted and that the range of displacement of a contact arm is increased. A contact (1) mounted to a connector housing and making contact with a mating contact, wherein the contact (1) is provided with: a contact section (2) which has a pair of contact arms (21, 22) extending forward (F) while facing each other and sandwiching the mating contact from both sides (LR) in the left and right direction, and also has a support section (23) for supporting the pair of contact arms; a pair of press-fit sections (3, 4) which are disposed on the left and right sides of the contact section so as to sandwich the contact section and are press-fitted into the connector housing; and a pair of spring sections (5, 6) which support the contact section (2) by elastic deformation of the spring sections in such a manner that the contact section (2) can be displaced to the left and right direction, the pair of spring sections (5, 6) being respectively bent from both the left and right sides of the support section, extended rearward (B) after being once extended further forward (F) than the press-fit sections, and then respectively connected to the pair of press-fit sections.</p> |
