摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is improved in correction accuracy of color shift with time. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an encoder 36Y for detecting the rotational speed of a photoreceptor drum 31Y; an encoder 45 for detecting the moving speed of an intermediate transfer belt 41; a color resist sensor 49 for detecting an inter-paper mark formed on the intermediate transfer belt 41; a first color shift-calculating section 85 for calculating an amount of color shift of the inter-paper mark detected by the color resist sensor 49; a second color shift-calculating section 86 for calculating an amount of color shift of the inter-paper mark based on the rotational speed of the photoreceptor drum 31Y from the time when the inter-paper mark is exposed to the photoreceptor drum 31Y to the time when the mark is transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 41, and based on the moving speed of the intermediate transfer belt 41 from the time when the inter-paper mark is transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 41 to the time when the color resist sensor 49 detects it; and a correcting section 87 for correcting the amount of color shift calculated by the first color shift-calculating section, by use of the amount of color shift calculated by the second color shift-calculating section.
