PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a piece of music that is matched to desires of a user without performing complicated operations. SOLUTION: A music retrieval playback device 1 includes: an impression word setting storage means 32 in which a plurality of impression words are ranked by impression axis to be stored, respectively; an impression data storage means 33 in which, for each of a plurality of pieces of music, an impression axis and an impression word relevant to the piece of music are stored; a control means 20 for setting the impression axis and the impression word as an initial value; a playback music selection means 24 for acquiring one identifier corresponding to the set initial value from the impression data storage means 33 to read a piece of music associated with the identifier from the music storage means 31; a command generation means 25 for generating a command for making the user select questionnaire information regarding a playback music on the basis of the initial value; and an input means 10 for making the user select the command.
