PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a proper response information generation time in an ECU (Electronic Control Unit). SOLUTION: The first time transmitting part 13 of a gateway device 1B outputs a sum obtained by adding the longest processing time PTB stored in the longest time storing part 12 to a delay time DT acquired from a gateway device 1A as delay time DT information to an ECU 22C connected to the downstream side bus 21C of the gateway device 1B. The response time setting part 222 of the ECU 22C sets a response information generation time RT in a difference obtained by subtracting double of the delay time DT from a time-out time MT.
