PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater used for supplying hot water to a shower in a bathroom and for securely making a person taking a shower in the bathroom recognize that an attention-seeking signal is received. SOLUTION: The water heater 10 for supplying hot water to the shower 52 in the bathroom includes: a receiving means 26 for receiving the attention-seeking signal; and a flow rate control means 16 for reducing a flow rate of delivered hot water from the shower 52 when the attention-seeking signal is received by the receiving means 26.
