The invention relates to the wood treatment industry and can be used for impregnating whole timber and fibreboard. The device for impregnating timber (1) comprises a container (2) that has a cylindrical inner surface (6) and is filled with an impregnating fluid (3), a means for loading timber into the container, a means for unloading and conveying the impregnated timber and also a mechanism for moving the timber inside the container, which comprises a rotor (4) with rows of rods (5) rigidly attached thereto, the rods (5) in each row being situated in the same plane and the surface of the rotor (4) being concentric with the inner surface (6) of the container (2), wherein the container (2) is in the form of a bath, the cylindrical inner surface (6) of the bath has an arc of 140 - 180°, the angle between a rod and the radius of the rotor (4), drawn to the point at which the rod is attached to the rotor (4), is 140 - 160° and the means for loading timber into the bath and the means for conveying the impregnated timber are situated on opposite lateral sides of the bath. The performance of the device is enhanced as a result of the continuity of the impregnation process.
