<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a mapping direction for reducing a noise in a cluster to perform a color conversion processing, by analyzing the noise contained in pixels in the cluster after clustering especially dark pixels out of a color reproduction range based on a color difference. <P>SOLUTION: A clustering section 104 is out of the color reproduction range, and pixels in a dark area are classified into one or more clusters. When a noise analysis section 106 determines that the noise resides in the cluster, in a conversion method decision section 107, a color conversion method mapped in the specific point direction is selected.
