PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method and cleaning device for an electrophotographic device with which the surface of a photoreceptive member is uniformly worn without uneven chipping and the occurrence of the fusion of a developer is averted. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic device develops the developer of 5 to 8μm in average grain size on the photoreceptive member formed with a photosensitive layer at >=35 to <=50μm on a conductive substrate provided with spiral ruggedness of 0.5 to 4.0 in Rmax, transfers the developer to a transfer material and subjects the surface of the photoreceptive member after the transfer with the developer to scrape cleaning by an elastic rubber blade. The cleaning device of the electrophotographic device is constituted in such a manner that the abrasion loss of the surface layer ranges from >=1 to <=10 angstrom (1 nm)/10,000 times and the surface layer is so constituted that its surface free energy increases according to wear and its friction torque with the blade increases.
