A cordless electric condiment grinder includes a hollow housing 10 elongated to extend between a base 14 for supporting the grinder uprightly and an opposing top 13 , the top 13 of the housing 10 having a bulbous form to define a condiment reservoir 27. A rotary grinding mechanism 56 is disposed in a lateral opening (41, fig 3) in the top 13 of the housing 10. The grinding mechanism 56 is connected to a motor 17 via transmission means 21. Preferably a tilt switch 20 controls operation of the grinding mechanism 56, allowing freshly ground condiment to be dispensed automatically through the lateral opening (41, fig 3) upon rotating the grinder through an acute angle. |
