PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote the oxidation decomposition of garbage by oxygen respiration of microorganisms by supplying a sufficient amount of oxygen, to enhance the crushability of hard objects, such as bones, in the garbage, to assist the decomposition by the microorganisms, to enhance the agitation capability to materials to be agitated and efficiency, to eventually shorten the treatment period of the garbage and increase the to capability, and to improve the efficiency of the garbage treatment, and to prevent the generation of putrefactive smell in the garbage treatment. SOLUTION: The garbage treatment apparatus is constituted by installing a rotating shaft 3 in a perpendicular direction in the center inside of a treating vessel 2, installing a vent tube 4 of a square shape in cross section opened in the upper part and the lower part in a central part by fixing the same to the rotating shaft 3, fixing upper agitation blades 5 having an angle of inclination with a base 3 of the treating vessel 3 and lower agitating vanes 6 provided with crushing knife blades to the rotating shaft 3, providing an inner side face 4 of the treating vessel 3 with a stationary knife blade, proving the base 23 with a crushing knife blade, and maintaining positive pressure in the treating vessel 3.
