PURPOSE: An image pickup device setting method for accurately aligning an image pickup device by inserting a mounting boss into the mounting hole of a circuit board is provided to implement accurate position setting of the image pickup device at low cost. CONSTITUTION: A base member(110) including one or more mounting bosses is prepared with one or more lenses. An image pickup device(120) is mounted to a circuit board(130). A reference point is formed in the upper side of the image pickup device. A mounting hole is formed in the predetermined location of the circuit board based on the reference point of the image pickup device. The mounting boss is inserted into the mounting hole. The circuit board is installed to the base member by the insertion of the mounting boss.
