<p>The press has a format balancing roller (18) arranged between a vacuum draw-out roller (48) of two printing units (12, 14) and a vacuum draw-in roller (46) of one of the printing units (14) and a third printing roller (16) in a loop of a material web (10). The web is wound around the balancing roller. The balancing roller is controllably and automatically displaced at a distance from the draw-in and draw-out rollers. A chamber for air staying under high pressure is provided in an interior of the balancing roller and communicates with the atmosphere via a microporous, air-permeable surface.</p> |
