PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a conventional optical free-space optical communications unit that is not adequate to mount on a satellite because the conventional unit requires a large space and has difficulty in downsizing and weight reduction as the entire unit, that has had possibility of interference between a control system for an optical reflecting mirror and a transmission lens control system because they are independent, and that deteriorates a control arithmetic operation speed because a plurality of the control systems exist and result in increasing the control arithmetic quantity. SOLUTION: The free-space optical space communications unit of this invention is provided with a rough tracking mechanism that roughly directs a light receiving section of a transmission/reception telescope to the opposite station to roughly capture a transmission light from the opposite station, a fine tracking mechanism that precisely captures the light roughly captured by the rough tracking mechanism, and a rough tracking compensation device and a fine tracking compensation device that calculates a correction amount of a gimbal angle given respectively to the rough tracking mechanism and the fine tracking mechanism at capturing, at tracking and at communication. |
