The first upper vertical fiber chute (4) of the feeding device (1) supplies the fibers of fiber blocks to a lower fiber chute (12) which rolls and discharges a fiber mat through several discharge rolls (6,8,10) at the bottom end (5) of the lower fiber chute. The torque of the roll segments of a roll assembly is controllable individually, and the widths of the gaps between the intake trough segments and the opposing roll segments are adjustable on a segment-by-segment basis. An independent claim is included for supply method of fibers or fiber blocks to textile machine.
