PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to sequentially emit RGB lights from a backlight unit in order to implement the colors of the emitted light in an image through the control operation of the shutters of a light transmission adjustment unit. CONSTITUTION: A display device includes a backlight unit(100) and an optical transmission controller(200). The backlight unit emits light. Plural openings are formed on the light transmission adjustment unit, and the light of the backlight unit passes through the openings. The shutters are formed at the light transmission adjustment unit, and each opening is opened and closed through the shutters. Each opening is a single pixel of a color image screen. |
