PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine having a circulation pump, which efficiently performs a laundry rinsing operation. SOLUTION: The circulation pump uses a pump motor for controlling a rotation speed, as a driving source. A controller controls the rotation speed of the pump motor, in a washing operation, to allow the water level of washing water in a drum to be equal to or more than a water level A which prevents air accumulation in the circulation pump (S4, S5, S7, S8), and in a rinsing operation, to allow the water level of the washing water in the drum to be equal to or more than a water level B higher than the water level A (S17, S18, S20, S21). Thus, the water level in the drum in the washing operation is made higher than that in the rinsing operation, thereby obtaining the efficient rinsing operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
