PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin having a glass transition point (Tg) of 200°C or more. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin having a glass transition point (Tg) of about 200°C or more can be provided by combining an epoxy resin containing an aromatic ring in a main chain, with a Pd type benzoxazine derivative at such a ratio that the molar ratio of epoxy group to benzoxazine ring is 0.3-0.7. It is also possible to provide a curing accelerator effective for building a crosslinking structure to achieve a high glass transition point (Tg). The epoxy resin composition consists of a benzoxazine derivative expressed by formula (a), wherein X is -CH<SB>2</SB>-, -C(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>- or -SO<SB>2</SB>-, and an epoxy resin (b) containing an aromatic ring in a main chain, wherein the molar ratio between a benzoxazine ring of the benzoxazine derivative and an epoxy group of the epoxy resin is 0.3-0.7.
