PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor which is reduced in cost and size, while maintaining motor characteristics properly. SOLUTION: The DC motor 1 has a recess 2a formed on the outer circumferential surface at the center of the magnetic pole of a field magnet 2, wherein an open angleθrelative to the rotary center of the motor of the recess 2a is within a range of 0°<θ<15°and a ratio D/T of the depth D of recess 2a and the thickness T at the thickest part of the field magnet 2 is within a range of 0.01<D/T<0.2.
