<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: when a part of a battery unit is deteriorated by repeating charge discharge of the battery unit, excessive load is applied to a normal part and deterioration in the normal part is accelerated in the battery unit and a battery pack. <P>SOLUTION: In a battery unit 7 housing an electrode group 4 including a positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 1, a separator 3, and a nonaqueous electrolyte in a battery outer packaging case 5, the outside cross section shape of the cross section B facing the vertical direction against the introducing direction of the electrode group 4 into the battery outer packaging case 5 in the battery outer packaging case 5 is a hexagon, and the inside cross section shape is a circle.
