PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient communication device or the like which can provide information to be transmitted according to each resident, can respond to a visitor according to one's background, can inform each resident whether there is a telephone call, fax or message. SOLUTION: The communication device S is provided with a master unit 2, which is installed in a room and a slave unit 1 which can communicate with the master unit 2 and is installed outside the room. The device includes: an information obtaining means 22c for obtaining information to be transmitted which obtains information to be transmitted to the resident; a storing means 30 which is arranged in the master unit and stores resident information, including biological information and the information to be transmitted; a biological information obtaining means 14 which is arranged in the slave unit 1 and obtains biological information of a visitor or the resident; a resident determining means 22b, which checks the biological information obtained by the biological information obtaining means 14 against the resident information stored in the storing means 30 and determines whether the visitor is the resident; a searching means 22d which conducts search whether the information to be transmitted is stored in the storing means 30, when it determines that he or she is the resident as a result of determination; and an output control means 22e which allows the slave unit 1 which obtains the biological information to output the information to be transmitted, when the information to be transmitted is known to be in the storing means 30 as a result of search.
