Use of an aldehyde (I), which is substituted by an alkyl group at alpha-position, and containing a total of 13- and/or 15 carbon atoms, as perfume or flavoring agent, is claimed. Use of an aldehyde (I) of formula H-C(=O)-C(R)-R a, which is substituted by an alkyl group at alpha-position, and containing a total of 13- and/or 15 carbon atoms, as perfume or flavoring agent, is claimed. R : 6-9C-alkyl (where the total number of C in (I) is 13) and/or 8-12C-alkyl (preferably 8-11C-alkyl) (where the total number of C in (I) is 15); and R a2-5C-alkyl (where the total number of C in (I) is 13) and/or 1-5C-alkyl (preferably 2-5C-alkyl) (where the total number of C in (I) is 15). Independent claims are included for: (1) perfuming- or flavoring article comprising (I) and one or more further perfume or flavoring agent, to impart, improve and/or to enhance a smell- or flavor note of aldehydes, conifer, flower, sweet fat, or ozonic note; and (2) a process to enhance, modify and/or improve smell or flavor of one or more aldehydic-, conferic-, sweet fat- and ozonic note, on a material, comprising contacting the material with a mixture comprising the aldehyde (containing 13 and/or 15 C-atoms), and the article. |
