<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that generates a flow of coolant over the entire surface of a coil end with only the action of gravity, and that improves its cooling performance. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes: a stator core 50 which has a plurality of slots 51 counterposed to the periphery of a stator 30; and a stator coil 60 which is constituted by winding, around the stator core 50, a plurality of coil element wires 70 with slot storages 71 accommodated in different slots 51 circumferentially and turn parts 72 connecting the fellow slot storage storages 71 outside the slots 51. Coil ends 61 are formed of turn parts 72, which project outward axially from the edges of the stator core 50, on both axial sides of the stator coil 60. The coil end 61 is shaped like a cylinder, and it has a planar axial edge 61a, and an inner perimetrical face 61b and a periphery 61c in the shape of circular curved surfaces.
