PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an expansion blade from being brought into a semi-closed state when contraction-closing the expansion blade, in an excavator. SOLUTION: This excavator includes the expansion blade 30 pivoted onto a bracket 20 with one end attached to a driving shaft 12, and a driving mechanism M for expansion-driving the expansion blade 30, in a lower end of the driving shaft 12. This excavator is provided with an auxiliary blade 50 with one end pivoted slidably to the bracket 20, in an inside of the expansion blade 30. The auxiliary blade 50 acts thereby as the baffle plate between the expansion blade 30 and the driving shaft 12, when the expansion blade 30 is contraction-closed, and prevents a prescribed dimension or more of gravel or clod from being caught clampedly.
