<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product wherein a metal plating layer is protected, metallic luster on the surface of the metal plating layer is taken in as a decoration element, and various decorations are applied inexpensively, and to provide a method of manufacturing the product. <P>SOLUTION: The product includes a product body part 10, the metal plating layer 20, and a resin layer 31. The product body part 10 has a rod shape the main component of which is metallic material. The metal plating layer 20 has metallic luster on the surface 200, and covers the outer surface 100 of the product body part 10. The resin layer 31 contains thermosetting resin and an adhesive component, and is pasted to the surface 200 of the metal plating layer 20.
