PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of restraining the occurence of insulation malfunction of an organic light-emitting diode. SOLUTION: The image display device has a flattening film formed on a circuit layer and having a through-hole and exposing a part of the circuit layer from the through-hole, a first electrode layer formed on the flattening film, a hydrophilic contact electrode layer formed on the flattening film from the through-hole and electrically connecting between a part of the circuit layer and the first electrode layer, a hydrophilic insulator formed on the contact electrode layer and filling up a hollow caused by the through-hole, a light-emitting layer formed on the first electrode layer, and a second electrode layer formed on the light-emitting layer.
