PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain plug which prevents slime and mold from sticking to the interior of a groove formed on a support shaft of the drain plug fitted removably into a drain hole formed at the bottom of a tub such as bathtub and washtub to keep the interior of the groove clean. SOLUTION: The drain plug is fitted removably into a drain hole formed at the bottom of a tub, such as bathtub and washtub. The groove is formed circumferentially on the outer circumferential surface of the support shaft supporting a plug lid of the drain plug. A ring having a plane shape of an approximate C shape is fitted removably in the groove as a hair catcher is fitted above the C-shaped ring. The hair catcher is made to ride over the ring to be removed from the support shaft. The ring has an approximately D-shaped vertical section, a vertical inner circumferential surface with upper and lower ends formed into acute angles, and an outer circumferential surface formed into a shape that causes drain flows to crush efficiently into the outer circumferential surface to give the ring a shake in the groove.
