<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of secret information against theft. <P>SOLUTION: A virtual machine for a file server monitors whether or not communication with an external file server where an external file server operates via a network is attainable, accesses a file from a client virtual machine with respect to the external file server or an internal file server when it is determined that communication with the external server is attainable, and accesses a file from the client virtual machine with respect to a local disk managed by the virtual machine manager or to a file relocated in a memory when it is determined that communication is not attainable with the external server after it has been determined that communication is attainable.
