<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which efficiently transmits video data in accordance with a network status, allows a user to recognize a situation of updating a region of non-interest according to a network status and even if an image in the region of non-interest is not updated, reduces a sense of incompatibility caused by deviation in a boundary between a region of interest and the region of non-interest. <P>SOLUTION: A region division section 112 divides image data into a region of interest and a region of non-interest, an encoding section 113 encodes image data in the region of interest and the region of non-interest, and a communication unit 115 sends the encoded data to a network. A control unit 116 monitors a communication status on the network and controls the encoding section 113. The control unit 116 suppresses updating of the region of non-interest in accordance with the communication status and controls the encoding section 113 so as to cause fade-out in the region of non-interest. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
