PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve radio wave condition for a mobile unit based on an operation where a user of the mobile unit shakes the mobile unit. SOLUTION: A mobile communication system 1 includes a measurement portion 12, an oscillation detector 14, and output controllers 16 and 21. The measurement portion 12 measures the strength of radio waves received by a portable telephone set 10 from a base station 20. The oscillation detector 14 detects vibration imposed on the portable telephone set 10. The output controllers 16 and 21 increase output of radio waves transmitted between the portable telephone set 10 and the base station 20, when the measured radio wave intensity is below a predetermined threshold and vibration is detected.
