<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device enabling complete magnetic shielding in a region requiring magnetic shielding, and to provide an image forming apparatus for mounting the device. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes an induction heating coil (52); fixed cores (54, 56) or a movable core (58) for forming a magnetic path around the coil; a ring-shaped shielding member (60), provided bent in the form of a circular arc, along the outer face of the movable core to shield magnetism generated with the coil; and a magnetic shielding means (83) for moving the inside of the ring to a shielding position penetrated by a magnetic field of one direction in shielding magnetism, to make the inside of the ring move to a retracting position penetrated by bidirectional magnetic fields in retracting magnetism, without shielding it. The shielding member includes a ring-like part (60B), provided in a boundary part of a region needing the magnetic shielding and a region non-requiring magnetic shielding, and electrically insulating a part of the circumferential direction, as viewed from an axial line direction of the movable core, while being constituted in a shape which is closed in the circumferential direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
