PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the recoverable time of an AP cannot be specified when a backup has been performed without staticizing the AP as the object of backup. SOLUTION: The storage system includes: a first host computer for executing an AP; a second host computer; a storage system having a plurality of storage devices forming a plurality of VOL including a first volume assigned to the AP; and a management computer for issuing a first instruction to the storage system, and for issuing a second instruction to the second host computer. In response to the first instruction, the storage system backs up the first VOL to a second volume at a first time while the first host computer continues to process the AP. In response to a second instruction, the second host computer reads out the data of the second VOL, and obtains a second time that is the time at which the AP is recoverable.
