Apparatus and method for image stabilization using adaptive Kalman filter

PURPOSE: An apparatus for stabilizing an image and a method thereof using an adaptive kalman filter deciding a gain according to the noise component of the image are provided to compensate the motion of a current image frame by using the kalman filter according to the noise component of the image. CONSTITUTION: A feature point tracker(110) extracts a feature point from a reference image frame and searches a correspondence point corresponding to the feature point from the image frame. A motion estimation unit(120) presently estimates the motion of the image. A motion compensation unit(130) calculates the motion by the intentional motion and generates a result image frame.
